Dr Jakub Sadzik joins Southern Anaesthetics
Southern Anaesthetics is proud to announce that Dr Jakub Sadzik joined the practice on the 2nd May 2023.
Jakub grew up in Pretoria, matriculating at Pretoria Boys High School in 1994. He attended the University of Pretoria where he graduated MBChB in 2000.
Jakub completed his internship at Red Cross Children’s Hospital and then completed his community service at Prince Mshiyeni Hospital in KZN. After a brief stint as a MO in surgery in the UK, he returned to South Africa and joined the DA medical officer training at GF Jooste hospital in Cape Town.
Jakub then joined the UCT Anaesthesia training program in 2008 where he excelled in all departments and obtained his Fellowship of the College of Anaesthesiologists (FCA)(SA) in 2011.
Jakub then went into private practrice in Cape Town where over the next ten years he built a very successful practice. His primary anaesthetics interests are Orthopaedic Surgery (Foot&Ankle, Shoulder, Knee&Hip), Vascular Surgery and General Surgery.
Jakub has just completed a 18 month contract at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops, British Columbia,Canada – a regional referral center hospital with 11 operating theatres covering all surgical subspecialities with the exception of cardiacs and thoracics. Having completed this contract, he and his family have decided to return to Cape Town for good.
Jakub enjoys the outdoors and is very active. He is an accomplished mountain biker, and has amongst other achievements completed two Absa Cape Epics and a Swiss Epic. His wife, Wendy, is a General Practitioner based in the City Bowl, and he has a 15 year old daughter and a 8 year old son.
