Rohan was born in Cape Town and obtained his MBChB degree from the University of Stellenbosch in 2002. He completed his Internship and Community service in Bethlehem Regional hospital. During the time in the Free State he obtained his Diploma in Anaesthesia.
He subsequently moved to the UK for a year and worked as a Medical Officer in Intensive care and Emergency Medicine. He then moved to Australia, where he spent the next 8 years of his career, working as a General Practitioner and GP Anaesthetist while obtaining his Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).
He returned to South Africa in 2013 and joined the University of Cape Town’s Anaesthetic Department where he completed his Fellowship of the College of Anaesthetists FCA (SA) and his MMed in Anaesthesia. During this time he was awarded the prize for the best Paediatric and Intensive care Registrar in Anaesthesia.
