Revyl grew up in Cape Town, matriculating as the Dux Ludi at Herschel Girls School in 1992. She attended the University of Cape Town where she graduated MBChB in 1999.
Revyl completed her internship at Kalafong Hospital in Pretoria, and then completed her community service and medical officer training in Anaesthesia at Eben Donges Hospital in Worcester where she obtained her Diploma in Anaesthesia in 2003.
After just over a year of locum Anaesthetist work in the UK, Revyl joined the UCT Anaesthesia training program in 2004 where she excelled in all departments and obtained her Fellowship of the College of Anaesthesiologists (FCA)(SA) in 2008.
Revyl has remained at the UCT/ GSH Department of Anaesthesia & Perioperative Medicine since 2008 and has become a well respected teacher, mentor and clinician. She has special interests in endocrine anaesthesia (including perioperative management of phaeochromocytoma), as well as anaesthesia for ENT and ophthalmology surgery, obstetric anaesthesia and adult cardiac anaesthesia.
Revyl joined Southern Anaesthetics on 1 January 2023.
